Each film-coated tablet contains 200 mg of entacapone. It also contains 0.29 mg of Lecithin (Soya) as an excipient.
Indication:
Entacapone is used as an adjunct to standard preparations of levodopa/benserazide or levodopa/carbidopa for treating Parkinson’s disease in adults who experience end-of-dose motor fluctuations and cannot be stabilized on levodopa combinations.
Instructions:

• Dosage: Take one 200 mg tablet with each dose of levodopa/dopa decarboxylase inhibitor. The maximum recommended dose is 2000 mg (10 tablets) per day.
• Administration: Entacapone should be taken orally and simultaneously with each levodopa dose. It can be taken with or without food1.
• Adjustment: The dose of levodopa may need to be reduced by 10-30% to minimize side effects such as dyskinesias, nausea, vomiting, and hallucinations.
• Special Considerations: Patients with renal impairment do not require dose adjustment, but those on dialysis may need a longer dosing interval.
