Each tablet contains 2.5 mg of apixaban. The tablets are white to off-white, round-shaped, and biconvex, debossed with "2.5" on one side and a logo on the other side.
Indications:
GENEXIBAN is used for:
- Prevention of venous thromboembolic events (VTE) in adult patients who have undergone elective hip or knee replacement surgery.
- Prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adult patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF) who have one or more risk factors such as prior stroke, age ≥75 years, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or symptomatic heart failure.
Instructions:
- Dosage: The recommended dose is 2.5 mg taken orally twice daily.
- Administration: Take the tablet with water. It can be taken with or without food.
- Timing: For VTE prevention after surgery, the initial dose should be taken 12 to 24 hours after surgery. For NVAF, the dose should be taken consistently at the same time each day.
- Duration: The duration of treatment varies based on the condition being treated. For hip replacement surgery, treatment typically lasts 32 to 38 days, while for knee replacement surgery, it lasts 10 to 14 days. For NVAF, treatment is usually long-term.
