Here’s a breakdown of the QVAR 50 Autohaler:
Content
Active Ingredient: Beclometasone dipropionate (50 micrograms per actuation).
Other Ingredients: Ethanol and a propellant (norflurane, HFA-134a).
Indication
The QVAR 50 Autohaler is used for the prophylactic management of asthma. It helps reduce inflammation, swelling, and irritation in the airways, making breathing easier. It is a "preventer" inhaler and must be used regularly to control asthma symptoms. It does not provide immediate relief during an asthma attack.
Instructions
Prepare the Device:
If the inhaler is new or hasn’t been used for two weeks or more, test fire it by releasing two puffs into the air.
Remove the mouthpiece cover and ensure the device is clean.
Using the Inhaler:
Hold the inhaler upright and push the lever up until it clicks into place.
Breathe out fully, then place the mouthpiece in your mouth and seal your lips around it.
Breathe in deeply and steadily through the mouthpiece. The inhaler will automatically release the medication.
Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds, then exhale slowly.
After Use:
Push the lever back down and replace the mouthpiece cover.
Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to prevent fungal infections.
Cleaning:
Wipe the mouthpiece with a clean, dry cloth regularly. Do not immerse the inhaler in water.
