Irbesartan
Indication
Essential HTN. Diabetic nephropathy in patient w/ type 2 diabetes & HTN.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
Increased hypotensive effects w/ high-dose diuretics & other antihypertensives. Increased serum K w/ K-sparing diuretics, K supplements, K salt-containing substitutes or other drugs known to increase K serum levels eg, heparin. Reversible increased serum lithium conc & toxicity. Attenuated antihypertensive effect w/ NSAIDs, selective COX-2 inhibitors, acetylsalicylic acid & non-selective NSAIDs.
