The YT-2862 voltage tester with an LCD display makes it possible to determine the presence of AC electric voltage and to detect AC voltage using the inductive method. The presence of voltage is signaled by an indication on the LCD display, and in the case of the contact method also by the LED lighting up.

CONTACT METHOD
Apply the tip to the live element. The voltage values will be displayed on the display, and the lighting of the diode means that electric current flows through this element. The indicator will show the highest voltage range for the tested circuit and all lower ranges, e.g. when measuring voltage from a 230V household socket, the display will show [12, 36, 55, 110, 220], which means voltage above 220V.
INDUCTION METHOD
The method makes it possible to detect AC voltage in an insulated wire. To do this, place your finger on the ''Inductive test'' field and bring the tip to the insulated wire. The presence of a lightning symbol on the LCD indicates the presence of voltage. This method also allows for ''non-contact'' detection of a break in a live electrical wire.
