Nickel Cadmium batteries are a type of rechargeable battery that has been widely used in the past but has been largely replaced by newer technologies. While they have some advantages like high energy density and long cycle life, they also have drawbacks such as the memory effect and environmental concerns due to the presence of cadmium.
