A story of developing a new putter:

With Patrick Reed moving to LIV and the number of European tours increasing, sales at our distributors in the European market are increasing.In response to such requests from the European market, we have put a lot of effort into developing mallet-type putters and neo-mallet-type putters.

The number of users of neo-mallet type putters is increasing considerably in Japan, and more than half of the professional golfers on the US tour use them. However, while maintaining Grindworks’ commitment to authenticity, we have developed a new concept putter with as many elaborate hand-made parts as possible, rather than mass-produced by casting.

Putting is a monster, and it is a club that confuses everyone, not just amateurs and professionals. One day, the putter that you used to hit with ease suddenly no longer feels right.

If this happens, you end up in a spiral of confusion as you tinker with your patting method or change swing balance. The best way to do this is to try changing your putter all at once.

However, if you suddenly change from a mallet to a pin type, it will feel strange. It is safe to try changing to a putter that is as close to the one you have been using as possible, but with slightly different tendencies.

However, putters aren’t that cheap, so you can’t just try changing them. Therefore, at grindworks, we have devised a new concept putter in which only part of the putter head can be replaced.

What’s more, the main body part is CNC machined from SUS303, and the optional parts are also CNC machined from high-quality aluminum ingots used in aircraft, creating a luxurious and elaborate putter.

Both optional parts have neo-mallet type fins, but one has slightly longer fins and the other has shorter fins that are closer to a mallet type, and rectangular parts are also available for golfers who are not familiar with mallet types. All of these optional parts are fixed with two screws, so anyone can easily replace them. A special hex wrench is also included as an accessory.

If you feel uncomfortable with your putter, try replacing it with another type to refresh your mood. Furthermore, the neck of this putter is triangular, which helps reduce the opening and closing of the face, which is suitable for neo-mallet patting techniques.

It is also resistant to off-center hits, and suppresses head shake even if the hitting point is off to the toe or heel. Please enjoy V-NUS, a new grindworks putter with excellent linearity and forgiveness.
