Dekopon is a hybrid between Kiyomi and Ponkan, it is Kumamoto’s symbol citrus fruit and also the first choice as a high-quality fruit gift in Japan. It is highly recognisable with its tip pointing out, resembling the shape of a pear. Only those that meet the standards of 13 Brix in sugar content and 1% or less in citric acid can be given the title “Dekopon”.
