Alfa Laval Indication Unit - Inductive: Reliable Valve Position Feedback for Hygienic Applications
The Alfa laval indication Unit - Inductive is an electrical feedback unit designed for cost-effective, reliable valve indication in hygienic environments. Offering standard functionality, the unit provides precise and continuous feedback on the open/closed positions of Alfa Laval butterfly valves, making it ideal for industries. It is compatible with any Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) with a PNP/NPN interface, ensuring ease of integration and operation.
Features
- Designed for long service life, offering precision operation in demanding environments.
- Resistant to dust, humidity, and oil, making it suitable for harsh industrial environments.
- Specifically designed for ATEX-certified environments, ideal for intrinsically safe applications in hazardous environments.
- The M12, 5-pin plug connectors ensure compatibility with AC/DC power supply and simplify installation.
- The electrical indication unit is easy to operate and can be mounted directly on the valve yoke for minimal setup.
Why choose Indication Unit
- Continuous, real-time valve position feedback ensures operational efficiency and reduced downtime
- The non-contact nature of the sensors and their resistance to environmental factors ensure consistent performance.
- Compatibility with any PLC system allows for easy integration into automated processes.
- The durable design and long service life contribute to reduced maintenance and operating costs.
How it works
The alfa laval indication unit uses advanced sensor technology to detect valve positions accurately:
- Inductive Proximity Sensor: Operates by creating high-frequency electromagnetic fields. When a conductive metal object approaches, it alerts the electromagnetic field, triggering an on/ off digital signal.
- Hall Proximity Sensor: Uses a magnetic field to detect the valve position. This sensor provides an on/off signal to the system, indicating the valve’s current position.
- In hazardous environments, this sensor operates by detecting impedance changes as a metal target approaches, triggering a digital output signal.
This data is sent to the PLC system for feedback, enabling automated control and monitoring of the valve status.
