Description and Use
Kleen MCT515 is a proprietary buffered alkaline liquid cleaner containing detergent surface-active agents with wetting and emulsifying properties. It is designed for the removal of organic foulants such as oils and bioproteins from membrane elements. This highly effective product delivers superior cleaning, ensuring longer system run times and extended membrane life.

Typical Applications:

• During membrane separation system operation, organic materials and suspended solids accumulate on membrane surfaces, causing fouling and impeding water flow.
• This fouling can lead to issues such as low production, high operating pressure, and excessive pressure drop, potentially resulting in irreversible membrane damage.
• Additionally, the accumulation of deposits near the membrane surface can increase the amount of dissolved material passing through, degrading product water quality.

Cleaning Recommendation:

• To prevent permeate water flow or quality decline, or membrane damage, the fouling should be removed through a clean-in-place (CIP) off-line cleaning process.
• Indications for cleaning include:
  • Significant decrease in normalized permeate flow.
  • Significant increase in pressure drop across the system or individual stages.
  • Increase in normalized salt passage that results in unacceptable product quality.
