Korea Newyear Mandarin Jeju Hallabong

Hallabong is a unique mandarin that grows near Hallasan Mountain on Jeju Island in Korea. Hallabong has become the island of Jeju's representative fruit. When visiting Jeju, it's almost unavoidable to buy a box of Hallabong and peel and munch on it throughout the trip. Tangerine flesh is very sweet and soft, and it is large.

Hallabong juice is popular among Koreans because it is sweeter and contains more Vitamin C than regular tangerines or oranges. This iconic fruit is only available during the winter. This iconic fruit comes into season only during the winter. To enjoy throughout the year, farmers take remaining fruits and turn them marmalade by mixing equal parts Hallabong and sugar.
