Pros | Cons |
Easy to install: SPC floorboards float over the subfloor and snap together similarly to laminate floorboards. No nails or glue are necessary. Durable: An UV light- and scratch-resistant wear layer shields the design layer from harm. Comfortable: The majority of SPC flooring planks and tiles come with some heat and sound insulation as well as an underlayment cushion for comfortable walking. Lots of design choices: Designs include geometric patterns reminiscent of vintage linoleum and vinyl sheet flooring, as well as imitations of several kinds of hardwood and stone floors. |
Undeniably imitation: Regardless of how lifelike the design layer is, SPC flooring still seems to be vinyl. That's not a big deal for artificial stone or geometric patterns, but a wood pattern will never resemble actual wood. Colors fade: Although SPC flooring has a UV protection coating, it eventually ages in direct sunlight. Not scratch-proof: The wear layer is not scratch-proof; it is only scratch-resistant. It ultimately appears weathered from constant human and animal traffic. Can’t be restored: You cannot repair your SPC floor after it has lost its gloss. There is just one choice: replacement. |
