FPSO MTC Ledang Sailed and Safely Arrived At Jitang Field

30th December 2019, Farhan Fauzi.

MTC had achieved a major contract milestone on FPSO MTC Ledang refurbishment, sail-away and safe arrival at Jitang Field, a field part of Vestigo Petroleum’s Irong cluster in Terengganu. This is the second time MTC has demonstrated its transportation and installation experience performing the task during the difficult monsoon conditions, a timely accomplishment. With the campaign slogan ‘Safely Riding the Monsoon II’, MTC’s in-house T&I team got the tow assisted by Bridge Water 130 and escorted by MP Prospect vessels.

The last of its T&I campaign activities at Jitang field has been successfully completed on 27th December. Its OCV Pride has demobbed from offshore and proceeded to Kemaman for demobilization activities. The FPSO has now proceeded for its start-up operations.

The MTC Ledang sail-away ceremony was conducted on 19th November and towed out of the quay a week later, on 26th November, after getting all necessary clearances. The ceremony was attended by the Ledang project team, field operator Vestigo Petroleum, O&M provider EPOMS as well as the Malaysian Development Bank. The FPSO took 4 months of RLEC work at MMHE (Malaysia Marine Heavy Engineering) shipyard in Johor which included the installation of additional modules onboard: a new BWS (bulk water separation), submersible pumps, power supply for WHP and FPLG (flow process linear generator).

Currently, MTC is one of the three contenders for Petronas Carigali’s Limbayong oil and gas field development in Sabah.
