Lisinopril dihydrate
Indication
Hypertension, chronic heart failure, acute myocardial infarction, renal complications of diabetes mellitus
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
Additive antihypertensive effects w/ diuretics. Risk of hyperkalemia w/ K-sparing diuretics, K supplements, K-containing salt substitutes. May reduce lithium elimination. NSAIDs, other antihypertensives, TCAs, antipsychotics, anaesth, sympathomimetics. May potentiate the hypoglycaemic effect of insulin & oral antidiabetic drugs. May cause nitritoid reactions (symptoms of vasodilation eg, flushing, nausea, vomiting, hypotension) w/ injectable gold & ACE inhibitors.
