Tretinoin
Indication
Acne vulgaris, Mottled hyperpigmentation, roughness and fine wrinkling of photodamaged skin
Instruction
Mottled hyperpigmentation, roughness and fine wrinkling of photodamaged skin
Apply a pea-sized amount onto entire face once daily at night. Therapeutic response may be seen after 6 mth.
Acne vulgaris
Apply once or bid, usually at bedtime, onto affected area which has been previously cleansed to remove excessive oiliness and dried. Therapeutic response may be seen after 6-8 wk.
Drug interaction
Increased skin irritation w/ topical medications, soaps, cleansers, and other cosmetics w/ high conc of alcohol, astringent, spices/lime, or preparations w/ sulfur, resorcinol, or salicylic acid. Reduced efficacy w/ oxidising agents (e.g. benzoyl peroxide).Potentially Fatal: Exacerbation of hypervitaminosis A symptoms w/ vit A.
