Rosuvastatin
Indication
Reduction of LDL-cholesterol, apo B & increase HDL-cholesterol in the management of hyperlipidemias, including primary hypercholesterolemia (type IIa), mixed dyslipidemia (type IIb); homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food.
Drug interaction
Use w/ fibrates may cause severe myositis & myoglobinuria. Increased exposure w/ cyclosporin. Gemfibrozil; lopinavir/ritonavir; coumarin anticoagulants. Enhanced risk of skeletal muscle effects w/ niacin.
