Klingspor developed the wide belt PS 729 F specifically for grinding metal at medium contact pressure. It is suitable for dry grinding on stainless steel and steel. Its stand-out features include
that can be achieved with this long life abrasive belt. The PS 729 F is used predominantly for intermediate and finish grinding metal, especially stainless steel and steel, and is also available in fine grit sizes.
The wide belt PS 729 F comes with a backing made of category F paper. The different types of paper are grouped into categories A through G based on their mass per unit area. Paper backings labelled A are particularly light, while G-weight paper backings are exceedingly heavy. As a consequence, the F-weight paper of the abrasive belt PS 729 F is especially robust. Coated with premium abrasive grains grouped to form a grain agglomerate, this abrasive belt is sure to deliver consistent surface quality even after extensive use. Its exceptional service life makes this long life abrasive belt ideally suited for high volume production.
Just as all other abrasives made by Klingspor, the wide belt PS 729 F comes with a bonding made of synthetic resin. It fixes the agglomerates in place on the backing while also adding supports against the generated lateral forces. Compared to natural bonding agents, synthetic resin offers the distinct advantage of being more stable. Better yet, synthetic resin possesses a significantly higher adhesive force, thus extending the service life of the abrasive. To ensure that the adhesive coating has the same thickness in all places of the abrasive belt, Klingspor uses laser technology to monitor every step of production process. For added safety, Klingspor also checks the weight of the product throughout production.
