Prednisolone (Deltasolone) is indicated for a wide range of inflammatory, allergic, autoimmune, and other conditions, including:
Severe allergies and asthma
Autoimmune or inflammatory disorders (e.g., psoriasis, eczema, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease)
Hematologic and neoplastic conditions, such as leukemia and lymphoma
Adrenocortical insufficiency, certain eye conditions (e.g., allergic conjunctivitis, uveitis), and edematous states
Dosage
Typical dosing range: 5 /mg to 60 /mg daily, adjusted based on disease severity
For chronic therapy, aim for the minimal effective dose, often ≤ /7 /mg/day long term
Administration
Take orally with water, preferably in the morning (around 8 /AM) to match natural cortisol rhythm
Can be taken with or without food
Missed Dose
Take as soon as remembered unless it's close to the next scheduled dose; do not double up
Precautions
Avoid in systemic fungal infections or known prednisolone hypersensitivity
Use cautiously in conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, osteoporosis, infections, glaucoma, and gastrointestinal ulcers
