XTS offer both blast and ultrasonic equipment options for the electronics sector. Kerry ultrasonic cleaning systems for the electronics industry handle applications ranging from low volume defluxing of printed circuit boards, through maintenance cleaning of assembly equipment to high throughput defluxing of PCB's for aerospace or defence sectors. Whilst Guyson blast cabinets can handle localised conformal coating removal during rework of PCB boards and airwash cabinets for service operations.
Guyson's Kerry ultrasonic cleaning systems for the electronics industry handle applications ranging from low volume defluxing of printed circuit boards, through maintenance cleaning of assembly equipment to high throughput defluxing of PCB's for aerospace or defence sectors. An often required solution, which can be provided by Guyson's Kerry Microsolve products, is that of removal of 'dendritic growth' from PCB boards, where this dendrite growth (often caused by swings in humidity from hot to cold and back) is affecting impedance so that the performance degrades and can cause intermittent operation or short-circuiting of the PCB.
Cleaning in Microsolve machines can be carried out with dual frequency ultrasonics or without sonics depending on your process requirements.
Vapor Degreasing
Microsolve Co-Solvent systems achieve cleanliness standards to specifications including BS, IPC [Institute for Printed Circuits], ESA [European Space Agency] and MIL SPEC. The co-solvent process defluxes all types of PCBs, assembled and reworked, removes no-clean solder flux residues, and eliminates the white deposits associated with traditional single solvent and water-based detergent processes. For certain aerospace applications where ultrasonics may not be used, the co-solvent process can clean without sonics, using instead the ‘rolling boil’ agitation together with the properties of the co-solvent mixture itself to achieve the requisite cleanliness standards.
Selective Conformal Coating Removal
Ideal for precision blasting such as selective removal of conformal coatings during PCB rework, the Pencil Blaster can be added to a Guyson blast cabinet of choice, but is often paired with the bench top Formula 1200 or the free standing Formula 1400. This gives the dual function of a larger blast gun for faster cleaning and the pencil blaster for intricate work. The Pencil Blast unit is a compact air powered pressure fed blast system fitted with hard metal stylus type nozzles (available with 0.8 mm, 1.2 mm or 1.8 mm bore blast nozzle) and comes complete with foot pedal control.
