Racecadotril
Indication
Symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in adult & complementary in infant (>3 mth) & in childn together w/ oral rehydration & the usual support measures, when these measures alone are insufficient to control the clinical condition, & when causal treatment is not possible. If causal treatment is possible, racecadotril can be administered as a complementary treatment.
Instruction
May be taken with or without food. Granules for oral susp: May be mixed w/ food or dispersed in a glass of water or into a feeding-bottle. Mix thoroughly & take immediately after prep.
Drug interaction
To date, no interactions with other medicinal products have been described in humans. In humans, joint treatment with racecadotril and loperamide, or nifuroxazide does not modify the kinetics of racecadotril.
