Timolol maleate
Indication
Reduction of elevated IOP. As concomitant therapy in patients w/ paed glaucoma, who are inadequately controlled w/ other antiglaucoma therapy.
Instruction
Initially: 1 drop of 0.25% Timoptol in the affected eye(s) twice daily. If clinical response is not adequate, dosage may be changed to 1 drop of 0.5% solution twice daily. If needed, concomitant therapy with other agent(s) for lowering IOP may be given with Timoptol. Use of 2 topical β-blockers is not recommended.
Drug interaction
Epinephrine, quinidine, oral Ca blocker, catecholamine-depleting drugs or β-blockers.
