Cefuroxime axetil
Indication
Upper & lower resp tract infections, GUT, skin & soft tissue infections, gonorrhoea, acute uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis & cervicitis.
Instruction
Should be taken with food: Take immediately after meals for optimum absorption. Tab: Swallow whole, do not crush/split.
Drug interaction
Lowered bioavailability w/ drugs known to reduce gastric acidity. Lowered oestrogen reabsorption & reduced efficacy of combined OCs. False -ve result in ferricyanide test.
