Every foreign worker you hire requires a medical insurance policy, which you as the employer must purchase.
a) Foreign Worker Insurance Guarantee (IG)
In accordance with regulation 21 of the Immigration Regulations, the Immigration Department has requested the following assurance from you as a security deposit for the employment of foreign workers (apart from domestic help).
If any foreign workers are deported while they are still in Malaysia, it promises to reimburse the Malaysian Director General of Immigration up to the maximum aggregate amount of the guarantee value.
According to nationality, guarantee fees range in price from the lowest of RM250.00 to RM1500.00.
b) Foreign Worker Compensation Scheme (FWCS)
This insurance must be purchased by businesses who hire foreign workers in order to comply with the law and safeguard such employees, as stated in Section 26(2) of the Amended Workmen's Compensation Act.

This is intended to lessen the financial burden on the employer of foreign workers in the event that their foreign employees are admitted to the hospital as a result of an accident or illness at a non-corporatized Malaysian government hospital.
