Carboplatin
Indication
Advanced stage ovarian cancer of epithelial origin.
Instruction
Previously untreated adult 400 mg/m2 by IV infusion over 15 min-1 hr. CrCl 41-59 mL/min Initially 250 mg/m2, 16-40 mL/min Initially 200 mg/m2.
Drug interaction
Increased risk of nephrotoxicity & ototoxicity w/ aminoglycosides eg, amikacin, gentamycin, tobramycin. Decreased phenytoin serum level. Increased warfarin anticoagulant effect. Potentiated renal effects of nephrotoxic drugs. Severe bone marrow depression w/ other bone marrow suppressing drugs of radiotherapy.
