Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: Used as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycaemic control in adults:
Monotherapy: In patients for whom metformin is inappropriate due to contraindications or intolerance.
Dual Therapy: In combination with metformin or a sulphonylurea.
Triple Therapy: In combination with metformin and a sulphonylurea.
Combination with Insulin: In patients with insufficient glycaemic control on insulin for whom metformin is inappropriate.
Dosage:
Adults: Starting dose is 15 mg or 30 mg once daily. The dose may be increased in increments up to 45 mg once daily.
Combination with Insulin: If hypoglycaemia occurs, the dose of insulin should be decreased by 10% to 25%.
Administration: Take orally once daily, with or without food. Swallow tablets with a glass of water.
