Instructions for MCP2562E/SN
Power Supply:
- Ensure the supply voltage (VDD) is within the operating range of 4.5V to 5.5V.
Standby Mode:
- To minimize power consumption, use the standby mode where the current draw is approximately 1μA at VDD = 5V.
Active Mode:
- In active mode, the device consumes around 200μA at VDD = 5V. Ensure adequate power supply and heat dissipation if necessary.
CAN Bus Connections:
- Connect CANH and CANL lines to the CAN bus input voltage (VIN). The differential input voltage (VDIF) between CANH and CANL should ideally be around 2V.
Output Levels:
- When driving loads, ensure that the output low voltage (VOL) does not exceed 0.4V under a load of 8mA.
- For output high voltage (VOH), ensure it remains above 4.6V under a load of -4mA.
Propagation Delay:
- Account for a propagation delay (TPD) of approximately 25ns in your timing calculations.
Installation and Handling:
- Handle the device with care to avoid damage from electrostatic discharge (ESD).
- Follow proper PCB layout guidelines to ensure optimal performance and signal integrity.
Testing:
- Before deploying the device in a live environment, thoroughly test all functionalities including data transmission and reception over the CAN bus.
