The Lift motor room is usually installed on the roof of a building. Compared with other equipment in the building, the electromagnetic environment is poor, and elevators are more vulnerable to lightning stroke. When buildings having an elevator and the nearby buildings are subjected to direct lightning stroke, the lightning stroke brings a huge transient electromagnetic field, so that the lines of the elevator induce overvoltage and overcurrent to cause damage to the control system. Modern elevators are generally controlled by programmable logic controllers ( PLC ) or microcomputers. Once an elevator is struck by lightning, these control devices are easily interfered or burned out due to low working voltage.
