Midazolam HCl
Indication
Preoperative sedation, Premedication in surgery, Sedation for dental and minor surgical procedures, Induction of anaesthesia, Sedation in critical care.
Instruction
Administer via deep IM or IV injection.
Drug interaction
Increased plasma concentrations w/ CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. clarithromycin). Decreased plasma concentrations w/ CYP3A4 inducers (e.g. rifampicin). May potentiate the action of other CNS depressants including opiate agonists or other analgesics, barbiturates or other sedatives, anaesth. Potentially Fatal: Significantly increased plasma concentrations w/ potent CYP3A4 inhibitors (e.g. ketoconazole).
