Metformin HCl
Indication
Type 2 DM. May be used as monotherapy or in combination w/ other oral antidiabetic agents, or w/ insulin. Adjuvant in poorly controlled type 1 DM.
Instruction
Should be taken with food. Adult One 850-mg tab bd-tds. Max: 3 g daily. Childn >10 yr 500 or 850 mg once daily. Max: 2 g daily in 2-3 divided doses.
Drug interaction
Glucocorticoids, β2-agonist, diuretics, ACE inhibitors.
