Per 5 mL Pholcodine 10 mg, chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg
Indication
Used to relief dry irritating cough.
Instruction
Adults and children over 12 years: 5ml, 3 times daily
Children 2 – 12 years: 2.5ml, 3 times daily
PCE must be used with caution and as prescribed by doctor or instructed by pharmacist for children between 2 to 6 years old. Use in children under 2 years is not recommended.
Drug interaction
Some medicines and PCE may interfere with each other. There include central nervous system depressants (CNS) including alcohol, barbiturates, hypotics, opioids, sedatives and antipsychotics, Monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) (antidepressants), tricyclic antidepressants, aminoglycoside antibiotics, phenytoin (antiepileptic) .These medicines may be affected by PCE or may affect how well it works. You may need different amounts of your medicines, or you may need to take different medicines.
