Per 5 mL dextromethorphan HBr 15 mg, promethazine HCl 3.6 mg
Indication
used for the short term symptomatic relief, particularly at night, of troublesome cough associated with the upper respiratory tract infections, catarrh (an excessive buildup of thick phlegm or mucus in an airway or cavity of the body) and congestion.
Instruction
Adults: 10 mL every six to eight hours. Maximum of 40 mL daily
Children: 6-12 years: 5mL every six to eight hours. Maximum of 20 mL daily.
2-6 years: 2.5 mL every six to eight hours. Maximum 10 mL daily.
Children under 2 years: use is not recommended
Drug interaction
Avoid taking Monoamin Oxidase Inhibitor (MAOI) (medicine for depression) together as the combination with dextromethorphan may cause a toxic reaction. Avoid taking anticholinergic medicines, tricyclic antidepressant, sedative and hypnotic.
