Description
LB52-18 is a low-hydrogen, iron powder type welding electrode manufactured by KOBELCO. It is classified as an E7018 electrode, which means that it has a tensile strength of 70,000 psi and is suitable for welding carbon steels and low-alloy steels.
LB52-18 has a number of advantages, including:
- Excellent mechanical properties: The weld metal produced by LB52-18 has excellent tensile strength, impact toughness, and crack resistance. This makes it a good choice for welding structures that need to be strong and durable.
- Good weldability: LB52-18 is easy to weld with and produces a smooth, uniform weld bead. It can be used in all positions, including overhead welding.
- Low hydrogen content: The low hydrogen content of LB52-18 helps to prevent weld cracking. This is important for welding high-strength steels.
- Good slag removal: The slag that forms on the weld puddle with LB52-18 is easy to remove, which makes it a good choice for welding in confined spaces.
LB52-18 is used in a variety of applications, including:
- Shipbuilding
- Structural steel fabrication
- Pressure vessels
- Pipelines
- Machinery
