Indication:
Dexmedetomidine Injection is primarily used for sedation of initially intubated and mechanically ventilated adult patients in an intensive care setting. It is also used for procedural sedation and as an adjunct to anesthesia.
Instructions:
- Dilution: The concentrate should be diluted before use. It is typically diluted with 0.9% sodium chloride, 5% dextrose in water, 20% mannitol, or Lactated Ringer’s solution.
- Administration: Administer the diluted solution intravenously. The dosage should be individualized and titrated to the desired clinical response.
- Monitoring: Continuous monitoring of the patient's vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate) is essential during administration.
