The Air relief valve LKUV-2 from Alfa Laval is a self-acting, hygienic air-relief valve engineered to automatically vent unwanted air from pipelines, pump inlets or high points in a system. As part of Alfa Laval’s Control Valves portfolio, the LKUV valve ensures smooth operation by preventing air pockets, minimizing the risk of cavitation, and safeguarding product quality in sanitary processing environments.
Its vertical installation makes it ideal for Cleaning-in-Place return lines (CIP-R) and other systems requiring stable pressure conditions. Perfect for use in the dairy, beverage, food and pharmaceutical industries, the Air relief valve LKUV-2 supports clean, efficient and reliable fluid handling.

How does LKUV-2 Air-Relief Valve work? |
|
The Alfa Laval LKUV-2 Air-relief Valve operates with a free-moving, lightweight polypropylene ball that reacts to pressure changes. When the inlet pressure rises, the ball is pushed upward from its lower seat, sealing the valve and preventing air from escaping. If air accumulates in the pipeline and pressure drops, the ball shifts away from the upper seat to release the excess air to the atmosphere. When no pressure is present, the ball naturally returns to the lower seat, effectively closing the valve. |
