Fuel Price Updates from September 19 to 25, 2024: RON 97 Drops by 6 Cents.
The Ministry of Finance (MoF) has released the retail fuel prices in Malaysia for the upcoming week, covering the period from September 19 to 25, 2024. According to the latest update, Premium RON97 fuel will see a decrease of 6 cents, bringing the price down to MYR 3.19 per litre.
The widely-used Regular RON95 remains unchanged at its government-imposed ceiling price of MYR 2.05 per litre, a rate that has been maintained since February 2021. This price cap was introduced to protect consumers from fluctuating global oil prices and continues to offer some stability for motorists.
Diesel prices also experience a reduction this week, with a 6-cent decrease in Peninsular Malaysia. The retail price for Diesel Euro 5 B10/B20 will now be set at MYR 2.95 per litre, while Diesel Euro 5 B7 will be priced at MYR 3.15 per litre. For East Malaysia, diesel prices remain consistent with previous rates. Euro 5 B10/B20 will maintain at MYR 2.15 per litre, and Euro 5 B7 will remain to be sold at MYR 2.35 per litre.
These updated prices will come into effect from midnight September 19 and will remain valid until the next fuel price announcement by the Ministry of Finance, scheduled for Wednesday, September 25, 2024.
