Will KLIMS 2024 Reveal the Next-Gen 2025 Perodua Myvi BEV?

The 2024 Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS), happening from December 5 to 11 at MITEC, is gearing up to be an exciting event. Among the brands to watch out for is Perodua, which has something special planned.

During a recent media briefing, Perodua hinted at a "product unveiling" at the show. Many believe this could finally be the moment we get a proper look at the next-generation 2025 Perodua Myvi BEV. The timing makes sense. The current Myvi, launched in 2017, is now eight years old, making 2025 the right time for a brand-new model.

Electrification seems to be the focus for the new Myvi. Earlier reports mentioned a hybrid version with a 1.5-liter engine, similar to the Toyota Yaris Cross in Thailand. However, what’s creating more buzz is the fully electric 2025 Myvi BEV.

At the Malaysia Autoshow this past May, Perodua showcased a working example of the Myvi’s electric powertrain within the body of the current model, calling it the emo-1.

This provides a clue about what’s next. Perodua has been developing concept models in the "emo" series, with the emo-4 expected to lead to the final production model. It’s highly likely that the emo-2 concept will make its debut at KLIMS.

The new concept could also give us a sneak peek at the design of the next-gen Myvi. If it builds on the shape shown in the emo-1 concept from the Malaysia Autoshow, we can expect a familiar, practical design that stays true to the Myvi’s strengths.

Electrification is not just about modernizing the Myvi—it represents Perodua’s commitment to staying relevant in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape. Whether it’s the emo-2 concept, a glimpse of the next-gen Myvi, or something entirely unexpected, KLIMS promises to be the perfect stage for Perodua to showcase its vision for the future. Let’s stay excited to see what surprises Perodua has in store at this highly anticipated event!
