Cabernet Sauvignon 60%, Merlot 40%
This is an interesting counterpoint to the grand vin, most notably for its lower alcohol in the context of the vintage – a gentle 13%. There are pleasant notes of cedarwood and a smoky aspect to the bouquet. The lower alcohol provides a lighter touch on the palate which works well; complexity is not the goal here. The finish is creamy and fresh, with some very appealing raspberry notes. This is a succulent and open-textured wine for relatively early consumption.
