Glypressin (Terlipressin) 1mg/8.5ml Solution for Injection contains the active ingredient terlipressin acetate. Each ampoule contains 1 mg of terlipressin acetate.
Indications:
Glypressin is used for the treatment of:
Bleeding Oesophageal Varices (BOV): Acute bleeding from dilated veins in the esophagus.
Type 1 Hepatorenal Syndrome (HRS): A type of kidney failure in patients with severe liver cirrhosis and ascites.
Instructions:
Dosage:
Bleeding Oesophageal Varices (BOV): Initially, 1-2 mg by intravenous bolus injection, followed by 1 mg every 4-6 hours. Treatment should continue until bleeding is controlled for 24 consecutive hours or for a maximum period of 48 hours.
Type 1 Hepatorenal Syndrome (HRS): Initially, 1 mg every 4-6 hours by intravenous bolus injection. If serum creatinine does not decrease by at least 25% after 2 days, the dose can be increased up to a maximum of 2 mg every 4 hours.
Administration: Glypressin must be administered intravenously (IV) by bolus injection or continuous infusion, depending on the indication.
Special Populations:
Renal Impairment: Terlipressin should be avoided in patients with advanced renal dysfunction unless the benefit outweighs the risks.
Hepatic Impairment: Terlipressin should be avoided in patients with severe liver disease unless the benefit outweighs the risks.
