The Alfa Laval SB Pressure Exhaust Valve is a high-performance regulating solution designed to automatically reduce rising SB pressure in hygienic process tanks. This SB exhaust valve ensures safe and consistent venting in pressure-sensitive environments such as the brewery, food, dairy and beverage industries. As a trusted SB Valve for tanks, it supports efficient and secure tank top pressure control across various applications. Engineered as a hygienic exhaust valve, it integrates seamlessly with the SCANDI BREW® system and CIP pipelines for safe, compliant operation. Operators can manually override SB pressure settings via a lower membrane air signal, enabling flexible process control during cleaning or emergency venting.

How does the SB Pressure Exhaust Valve work? |
|
This Pressure Exhaust Valve functions by applying a set point pressure to the top of the membrane system. It maintains regulation equal to the preset pressure, which can be manually adjusted via a precision regulator or electronically managed using an IP converter controlled by a PLC. When internal pressure within the tank exceeds the set point, the regulating valve activates by opening the side branch to safely release excess pressure, either to the atmosphere or a recovery system. For optimal operation, it's important to ensure no backpressure exists beyond the vent outlet. Additionally, the SB valve can be manually force-opened via an air signal to the lower membrane area. Cleaning is easily carried out using either the integrated cleaning nozzle during CIP of the vent or recovery mains, or an optional CIP supply valve directly connected to the valve housing. |
