Ken Kreisel considers the K500 as a more compact version of the K700. Utilizing a seven-driver line array, the K500 is a reference level monitor and can deliver highly accurate and coherent sound with massive headroom and dynamic range.
K500 has three 27mm low vibration tweeters, one 27mm pro tube tweeter and three 4" high sensitivity midrange drivers. Unlike the K700, which has 5.25" midrange drivers, the K500 goes with 4" driver units and reduces the size by 20%. It is a perfect space-saving speaker choice if you have a limited space and need smaller speakers.
On the back panel of K500, there is one switch for controlling the vertical directivity of the sound dispersion. The Wide option is recommended when the speaker is used for home theater, and the room has multiple rows of seats with height differences. The Narrow option is designed for circumstances, e.g., professional recording studios, when the user wants to limit the sound reflections for more accurate sound.
