The Kronenflex grinding discs are characterised by a perfect combination of high cutting performance and long service life. They have been optimised for work on
These cutting-off wheels can be used in combination with handheld angle grinders. They are highly aggressive during cutting even if used at relatively low tool pressure.
A perfect blend of grain and bond makes these cutting-off wheels highly aggressive and lets them achieve a long service life. Since made synthetically, the abrasive grain remains of consistently high quality. Kronenflex cutting-off wheels are categorised into three classes: Extra, Supra and Special. The Special category satisfies the highest standards in terms of material processing - not only on stainless steel. All cutting-off wheels conform to European safety standards and are in compliance with the guidelines of the oSa.
Optimum work results hinge on selecting the cutting-off wheel that perfectly matches the respective material and the angle grinder used. Initial identification is provided by the colour coding of the Kronenflex cutting-off wheels. The cutting-off wheels intended for work on stainless steel are marked by the blue cloud printed on the label. Another key aspect is finding the cutting-off wheel that offers optimum hardness. A rule of thumb is: The harder the material you need to process, the softer the bond should be with which the grain is affixed to the abrasive disc. If the bond is too hard, the disc will produce too much heat during work. Excessive heat will make the material you are cutting very hot and cause the disc to glaze. The disc will have to be replaced much faster. Also essential to a good result and a long service life of the disc is picking the right cutting speed. You will achieve the best results when working with a speed up to the maximum permissible speed of the disc used.
Good to know: Even cutting-off wheels come with an expiration date. On the Kronenflex cutting-off wheels by Klingspor this date is printed on the metal ring. The wheels must no longer be used once the expiration date has elapsed. Prior to every use on an angle grinder, the wheel should be inspected for damage. For reasons of safety, you must not use damaged cutting-off wheels and not exceed the maximum permissible spindle speed.
