is an insecticide containing two active ingredients, namely thiamethoxam from the neonicotinoid group and cyantraniliprole from the diamides group, which act by contact on the central nervous system of insects (“cental nervous system”) and stomach poisoning by blocking the feeding system of pests. The active ingredient thiamethoxam also acts systemically while the active ingredient cyantraniliprole shows little systemic properties. The active ingredient cyantraniliprole moves upwards for dicot plants while moving slightly downwards for monocot plants. It also provides broad spectrum control to control sucking and chewing pests in leafy and fruiting vegetable crops. Some pests have the potential to develop a high level of resistance to the product after repeated treatments. The use of the product must follow a strategy that has been determined for use and spray area because the development of pest resistance cannot be predicted. Syngenta encourages the use of “Stewardship” to ensure long-term effectiveness in pest control. It is recommended to spray using a "window approach" to avoid continuous exposure to generations of pests that have the same mode of action and to use insecticides not exceeding 50% of the plant's life cycle.
Syngenta Palystra® Insecticide is mainly used for control below pests:
- Ulat Plutella (Plutella xylostella)
- Ulat Kuntum (Helicoverpa armigera)
- Ulat Pengorek Buah (Maruca testulalis)
