Get Ready! 2024 Nissan Kicks e-Power Launching December.

The newly previewed 2024 Nissan Kicks e-Power is set for an official launch this December, introducing Nissan's first e-Power model in Malaysia. This model promises to blend the benefits of battery electric vehicle (BEV) driving with the practicality of a combustion engine.

Positioned in the compact SUV segment, the Kicks e-Power aims to deliver a responsive, electric-like driving experience—without requiring external charging. Central to its e-Power technology is an electric motor dedicated to driving the wheels, providing instant torque and the smooth acceleration typical of a BEV.

Unlike typical BEVs, the Kicks e-Power addresses range concerns by incorporating a small gasoline engine that charges the battery while driving. This design lowers tailpipe emissions and optimizes fuel efficiency, making it an excellent choice for urban drivers aiming to reduce their carbon footprint.

This strategy aligns with Nissan’s Arc Business Plan, which seeks to balance traditional internal combustion engines (ICE), hybrids, and BEVs in global markets, supporting the shift to a carbon-neutral future.

In the e-Power system, the gasoline engine’s sole purpose is to produce electrical energy, operating in fixed conditions that allow it to maintain high thermal efficiency. This setup enhances fuel efficiency, cuts down on emissions, and reduces CO² output.

In the advancement of Nissan's next-generation e-Power systems, testing has marked a global milestone in engine thermal efficiency—a breakthrough that promises to greatly enhance fuel economy and lower CO² emissions in upcoming e-Power models.

Ahead of the Kicks e-Power launch, Edaran Tan Chong Malaysia has introduced the “Apa E?” campaign. This engaging initiative invites Malaysians to explore e-Power technology through a dedicated webpage and an interactive “Apa E?” quiz on Nissan Malaysia's website, where participants have the chance to win exclusive Nissan items.

Moreover, Nissan will host “Apa E?” roadshows across Malaysia in November, giving the public a hands-on experience with its cutting-edge e-Power technology.
