Rosuvastatin
Indication
Rosucor is used for lowering high cholesterol and triglycerides in certain patients. It also increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL, 'good') cholesterol levels. It is also used to slow atherosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries) in patients with high blood cholesterol levels. It is used along with an appropriate diet. Rosucor is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, also known as a 'statin.' It works by reducing the production of certain fatty substances in the body, including cholesterol.

Drug interaction
Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications: herbal medicines like red yeast rice or other medicines for high cholesterol. Rosucor may also interact with the following medications: alcohol, antacids containing aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide, cyclosporine, niacin, warfarin. Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how it interactions are being managed or should be managed.
