Acyclovir

Indication

Stada Acyclovir cream is used for treating chickenpox (varicella) or shingles (herpes zoster) and treating or suppressing genital herpes infections. Stada Acyclovir cream is an antiviral. It works by stopping viral replication. However, Stada Acyclovir cream does not eliminate the virus, is not a cure, and does not prevent transmission to others.

Instruction

Use Stada Acyclovir cream as directed by your doctor!

• Start therapy with Stada Acyclovir cream at the earliest sign or symptom of shingles or genital herpes (pain, burning, blisters).
• If treating an acute outbreak, continue using Stada Acyclovir cream for the full course of treatment even if you feel better in a few days.
• For suppressive therapy, Stada Acyclovir cream works best if it is taken at the same times each day.

Drug interaction

Stada Acyclovir cream interacts with: probenecid (Benemid), Tizanidine, Varicella Virus Vaccine, Fosphenytoin, Phenytoin, Valproic Acid. Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how it interactions are being managed or should be managed.
