Rosuvastatin

Indication

 Stada Rosuvastatin is used for lowering high cholesterol and triglycerides in certain patients. It also increases high-density lipoprotein (HDL, 'good') cholesterol levels. It is also used to slow atherosclerosis (narrowing of the arteries) in patients with high blood cholesterol levels. It is used along with an appropriate diet. Stada Rosuvastatin is an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor, also known as a 'statin.' It works by reducing the production of certain fatty substances in the body, including cholesterol.

Instruction

Use Stada Rosuvastatin as directed by your doctor.

• Take Stada Rosuvastatin by mouth with or without food.
• If you also take an antacid that has aluminum or magnesium in it, take it at least 2 hours after taking Stada Rosuvastatin. Check with your doctor if you have any questions.
• Continue to take Stada Rosuvastatin even if you feel well. Do not miss any dose.
• If you miss a dose of Stada Rosuvastatin, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Drug interaction

Do not take this medicine with any of the following medications: herbal medicines like red yeast rice or other medicines for high cholesterol. Stada Rosuvastatin may also interact with the following medications: alcohol, antacids containing aluminum hydroxide or magnesium hydroxide, cyclosporine, niacin, warfarin. Also note that interaction between two medications does not always mean that you must stop taking one of them. As usual it affects the effect of drugs, so consult with your doctor about how it interactions are being managed or should be managed.
