Formoterol fumarate dihydrate: 4.5 /µg – a long acting β agonist
Asthma: Maintenance treatment and symptom relief for adults (≥18 /yrs), adolescents (12–17 /yrs), and children (6–11 /yrs), with options for “maintenance + reliever” therapy to reduce exacerbation risk.
COPD: Symptomatic management for adults with FEV /< /70% and a history of exacerbations while on bronchodilators
Dosing Protocols:
Asthma (≥18 /yrs): 1–2 inhalations twice daily; dose may increase up to 4 inhalations twice daily. For “maintenance + reliever” use, up to 6 inhalations per episode or 12 inhalations/day temporarily.
Asthma (12–17 /yrs): Same 1–2 inhalations twice daily
Asthma children (6–11 /yrs): Use the 80/4.5 /µg strength; 2 inhalations twice daily
COPD (≥18 /yrs): 2 inhalations of 160/4.5 /µg twice daily
Stepper-by-step Use:
Unscrew and remove the cap.
Hold upright and twist the red grip fully one way and back until you hear a click to load a dose (two full twists only for the initial priming, then one per dose) /
Exhale away from the inhaler, seal lips around mouthpiece, inhale strongly and deeply, then hold your breath briefly.
Replace cap and rinse mouth with water after use to prevent thrush /
Clean weekly; wipe mouthpiece with a dry cloth—don’t wash it /.
Dose counter starts at 120, turns red near 20 doses left; when it hits zero, discard and replace as powder delivery may falter /
