Pentoxifylline
Indication
Peripheral arterial occlusive disease & arteriovenous disorders of an arteriosclerotic or diabetic nature & trophic disturbances. Cerebral circulatory disorders, ischemic & post-apoplectic states, circulatory disturbances of the eye or internal ear, associated with degenerative vascular processes & impaired sight or hearing.
Instruction
Should be taken with food.
Drug interaction
BP-lowering drugs, antidiabetics, theophylline. Cimetidine. Platelet aggregation inhibitors eg, clopidogrel, eptifibatide, tirofiban, epoprostenol, iloprost, abciximab, anagrelide, NSAIDs other than selective COX-2 inhibitors, acetylsalicylates, ticlopidine, dipyridamole.
