Indication
Voltaren is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis. Voltaren is in a group of drugs called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Voltaren works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Instruction
Depending on the size of the painful area to be treated, 2-4 g Voltaren Emulgel (cherry- to walnut-sized amounts which is enough for an area of about 400-800 cm2) should be applied 3-4 times daily to the affected sites and gently rubbed-in. The duration of treatment depends on the indication and the patient's response. It is advisable to review the treatment after 2 weeks.
Voltaren Emulgel can also be used as an adjunct with other dosage forms of Voltaren. No dosage recommendations and indications have been established to date for the use of Voltaren Emulgel in children.
