Perindopril arginine
Indication
HTN. Stable coronary artery disease: Risk reduction of cardiac events in patients w/ history of MI &/or revascularisation. 5 mg Symptomatic heart failure.
Instruction
Should be taken on an empty stomach.
Drug interaction
Increased hyperkalaemia w/ aliskiren, K salts or K-sparing diuretics (eg, triamterene, amiloride, eplerenone, spironolactone), ACE inhibitors, angiotensin II receptor antagonists, NSAIDs, heparins, immunosuppressants (eg, ciclosporin or tacrolimus, trimethoprim). Increased risk of angioneurotic oedema w/ estramustine, gliptines, racecadotril, mTOR inhibitors (eg, sirolimus, everolimus, temsirolimus). Reversible increased serum conc & toxicity of lithium. Increased blood-glucose lowering effect w/ antidiabetic agents (eg, insulins, oral hypoglycaemic agents). Increased antihypertensive effect w/ baclofen. Increased risk of worsening renal function w/ NSAIDs. Increased hypotensive effect w/ antihypertensives, vasodilators, nitroglycerin & other nitrates, TCAs, antipsychotics, anaesth. Reduced antihypertensive effect by sympathomimetics. Nitritoid reactions w/ injectable gold (Na aurothiomalate).
